Disco Dave Does Rocky Harbour

Well, what a night!  The live music was great, the guy playing was a regular performer and the locals obviously come out and make the most of it.  Some of us however, gave it a bit more yee hah than others.  Dave blames it on not having eaten enough, but a man of his age should know better!  Poor Marion was dragged onto the dance floor, no was not an answer Dave was prepared to hear

It's not a very good photo but it was dark in there.  By the end of the night Dave had joined a table of locals, was "Dad Dancing" like a good 'un and who cared what time he had to be up in the morning.  Needless to say, the story has some miles to run yet.  We reckon that by the end of the night the locals were texting their friends to come and see what the Brit Biker can do.

Today we have ridden 350 miles in the rain.  The sun has come out within the last 30 minutes and it is the first time we have seen Newfoundland in the dry.  We arrived at Trinity and were faced with our accommodation for the night...... it is very Hi De Hi, 1950's chalets

The road up to it was not what I really wanted to see at the end of a hard ride

We are off into Trinity this evening for a meal and I will do a second post if i have anything worth adding.  Tomorrow we are on our way to St Johns and the most easterly point, Cape Spear

  2. Thanks so much for your fab blog and hearing all about the adventures - we have been using the blog to keep up to date with my dads adventures AKA Disco Dave. I am astounded he has managed to embarrass me - his 35 year old daughter - when he is Dad dancing thousands of miles away:-) I can visualise the spectacle perfectly, and makes me laugh out loud, whilst shaking my head in despair! Hopefully you got the night off from his jokes as maybe he was too drunk to remember them. Go codger go! look forward to seeing you soon and don't wear out the ceramic - I am not sure it is up for that level of wear and tear.
